Gloucestershire for a week

We’ve got a holiday house booked for a week in June in a small village/hamlet in Gloucestershire; the nearest town is Tewkesbury, I think. Any recommendations for things to do for a multi-generational family with four adults, one nearly 4-year old and two dogs? We’ve booked tickets to Cotswolds Farm Park for one day, and would like to do a day in a town, perhaps, and have a wet weather contingency such as swimming, so any recommendations would be gratefully received!

It depends where exactly you are but...
Malvern Splash isn't far from Tewkesbury, there's a flume and wave machine; recently renovated.
Cheltenham museum and art gallery usually has something for little people and the children's library is next door.
Tewkesbury obviously has the Abbey. Out of the hat, heritage Museum was good when we went. The ham which is off the main high street is great for a walk.
Gloucester cathedral is worth a trip, there is a (very) small Beatrix Potter museum nearby.

If your visiting Cotswold farm park, you may want to take a quick trip to Bourton on the water, which isn't far away from there. Or just allocate a whole day for the village, the motor museum is fun and allows dogs. Not sure if birdland is dog friendly, I definitely know that the model village isn't.

There is a sculpture trail in the Forest of Dean www.forestofdean-sculpture.org.uk/sculptures/

Slimbridge is down towards Bristol and is nice for a day out. Lots of birds and a couple of play areas for younger ones

The Gloucestershire and Warwickshire steam train is really nice. It leaves from Cheltenham race course www.gwsr.com/

Eastnor Castle is a lovely day out. Last time we went, it had an adventure playground, maze, treetop walk etc... eastnorcastle.com/things-to-do/fun-for-children/

Burford Garden Centre is definitely worth a visit and lunch if it's raining.
Cheltenham Town centre is good and I highly recommend Kibou Japanese restaurant.
Cotswold Wildlife Park
Snowshill Manor and Gardens is a lovely National Trust place to visit.

Cleeve Hill for views over Cheltenham/Malverns. Great for a walk, open and flat in places so safe for little one to run around. Lunch at Rising Sun Hotel (just off common), it's a Greene King so not silly prices. Dogs and walking boots (as long as not muddy) are welcome inside, has outside space with views. If you pop in your car after walk, there's also another Greene King, the Apple Tree at Woodmancote - pub with nice character, garden and play area (one mile down from Cleeve Hill).

You can't not visit Gloucestershire without visiting a Cotswold village or two, Bourton-on-Water and Lower Slaughter are close to eachother and worth a visit. If your little one is a boy there's a model railway and motor museum at Bourton. There's Birdland there as well, and a stream running through which is slow running and great for paddling in wellies.
