Avoiding Halloween in October half term

My dc will be 8 and 6 by October half term. I'd really like to take them away for a few days. We'll have done a walking hol in the summer (covid permitting!) So was hoping we could do something like a theme park or attractions.

The problem is my 8yo is petrified of Halloween decorations. Even talking about Halloween now makes her very stressed and anxious. Trying to find somewhere that we can go without being faced with witches, vampires etc. Is proving really difficult. I can't be the only parent with a child this scared?! Has anyone got any ideas about where we can go?

(I'm based near Bristol but happy to drive for several hours.)

Gulliver’s near Milton Keynes had pretty low key celebrations and those which they did have were very tame. There were only two ‘scare attractions’ - the enchanted forest and Count’s haunted castle. They’re pretty easy to avoid.
We did Woburn Safari park at October half term. We spent most of the time driving round and I remember a few pumpkins in some of the enclosures but they were pretty battered!

Hi OP we went to Bluestone for October half term and there was very little Halloween stuff there much to my DC disappointment. I can't say there was no sign of it at all some people ( us included ) decorated their buggies but it was very low key and more likely to make them curious than terrified.

Not sure if it's ticks the attractions box but worth a mention !

My DC have made me promise never to take them there at Halloween again as it was a let down for them not to be at home trick or treating with all their friends !

Ooh I hadn't considered Bluestone although we have been there in summer in the past. Thank you!

Whilst I think Halloween is an awful tradition that should not be celebrated, I do think the fear needs somehow to be addressed. There could be more people this year given last year's celebration hardly happened, and it is not going to be banned.

Hope Bluestone is enjoyable if you choose to go though.

Hendra holiday Park in Cornwall has a big indoor waterpark and is very quiet at the Oct half term.
I don't ever recall seeing Halloween decorations there.

You could see if Lee Abbey in Devon has any self catering accommodation available. They are a Christian community and definitely wouldn't be into Halloween and there are cottages in the grounds/ by the sea I think. (independent of the community)
