If you can afford it- Hotel Du Vin.

If you cant- I would recommend the Premier Travelinn.

We go to Brighton every May Bank Holiday and on previous years we stayed at the Old Ship and the Brighton Hilton. Both about £110 a night, however this year we decided to have a cheapie at the Premier which is central ( right by the lanes) and although from the outside looks like an office block, inside it is very nice, spotlessly clean- larger rooms than the other two hotels that I mentioned.

I would stay there again no probs.

But if I had the funds I would stay in the Du Vin- it looks lovely!

It's Hotel Pelirocco for me, I love themed rooms! Hotel du Vin is great too though, really good restaurant.

we had a very nice time at hotel du vin. the bar is great. we ate at terre a terre, about 100 metres away, fabulous vegi restaurant.

Hotel du Vin... I know I think it might be too expensive this time...

That is encouraging about Premier Travel Inn

Tiredemma, was it particularly noisy at Premier Travel Inn?

Well- not really no. The other hotels we stayed at were on the front so lots of traffic noise. I dont recall the premier being noisy to be honest.

I did like its central location though.Very good position for Brighton shopping, bars etc.

Tatties · 13/11/2007 11:40

Ok great! It's just that someone mentioned there are lots of hen/stag parties staying there, so potentially noisy because of that. My main priority is that the rooms are clean and reasonably modern, so it should be fine from what you've said.

hi all, just found out we may be delayed for a 2 nights at Gatwick airport which I understand is a stones throw from Brighton. Can you recommend child friendly activities in the area for a very active 19 months old toddler? We won't have a car so will be relying on public transport/taxis. Sorry for thread hijack x

LIZS · 02/12/2007 20:21

Whereabouts will you be staying near Gatwick ? In Brighton (at least 30 minutes by train away) there is the Aquarium on the Seafront but costs ££. There is indoor soft play at Doynings sports centre in Redhill or Arctic Jungle in Crawley, both a short-ish walk (with buggy for lo) from respective station.

we are staying at the Holiday Inn at Gatwick airport. Soft play would be good to tire him out!
