South west coastal path - Devon / Cornwall?

Hello all - my partner and I have a week to spend walking the south west coastal path in early June. We need to finish near either Exeter or Plymouth, and to start somewhere easily accessible by train. We have the guide book but not sure which leg to walk - any recommendations? I know it’s all so beautiful so we can’t really go wrong - but would love any advice! Thank you

The Jurassic coast in East Devon is lovely. I am not sure how far you want to walk each day but if you start near Lyme Regis or Bridport and walk towards Exeter that should give you 10 ish miles per day. It is really stunning and you could also do a bit of fossil hunting. Sidmouth, Lyme Regis, Branscombe and Budleigh Salterton are good stopping points for refreshments. The main difficulty will be the train to your starting point, you could get the train to Honiton and then a bus?

Have you read the salt path by Raynor Wynn that's about her walking the coastal path and in that they use Paddy Dillon's guide books .

How fit are you and what do you like? Plus do you want to just do coast or also explore things nearby?

Porthcurno to Lands end is a particular favourite bit of mine due to quite a few small sandy bays, on a sunny, calm day the water is so clear and blue, plus the Minack theatre and the end of the country with a pub. There is a bus from Lands End back to Penzance (where the trains stop!)

Start at Dawlish (the train station is practically on the SW coastal path) and head towards Plymouth, would be my advice! That section is lovely, particularly around the South Hams.

Thanks so much everyone! This is so helpful. Makes me feel less panicked about knowing where to start with research! Yes we’re quite fit so mainly going for the walking and the views. Plus a drink or two at a nice pub each evening maybe..
