Cafe Alf Resco in the harbour has amazing views from its heated patio and I can definitely recommend the brunches! There’s also good views from the castle tea rooms.
Rockfish is the place to go for fish and chips.
Take the Greenway and Dittisham ferry to Anchorstone Cafe.
Our favourite walks include following the South West coast path past the castle to Stoke Fleming where you can have a great lunch at the Green Dragon pub.
Another great option is to take the ferry over to Kingswear or for a lovely circular walk that takes in the Brownstone Battery and the Daymark.
If you like arts and crafts, check out Foss Street for independent shops and art galleries. It’s also really pretty so definitely worth a mooch.
The steam railway tickets include a ferry across to the station at Kingswear, or you can make a day of it with a Round Robin trip that includes a bus to Totnes and a return by boat along the River Dart.
Blackpool Sands is one of the loveliest beaches ever.

Andria does beautiful food if you want fine dining restaurant-y. Went there for lunch on our honeymoon

I second the round robin steam train trip, also the river cruise up the dart. For a day out, Dartington Hall near Totnes has lovely walks, there are formal gardens to potter round as well as a longer deer park & river walk. Good cafe and pub and they did outdoor music events through last summer.

Between Dartmouth and Totnes is Sharpham winery, famous for their cheeses and wines, they do tours, tastings and have a restaurant.

Also in that neck of the woods is the Riverford Field Kitchen which is amazing food. They used to serve family style with sharing plates for the table before COVID which would be a nice sociable thing with adult children if they still do. Not directly in Dartmouth but not far to venture into some lovely countryside.
