Short break suggestions after bereavement

So I just lost my grandma and my mum and dad are bereft. They lived close by for their whole married life. It's a shattering blow although we have been very blessed and she was 98, nearly 99.

I am hoping Covid will do one and I can take them away for a couple of days later in the year.
Where would be fantastic? I want to go somewhere truly lovely. Will consider all budget options.
Definitely primarily country based. Not a city break.

They like the Cotswolds. They are Midlands based so most places are accessible.

Please share your favourites. I would like to be able to dream,

A hotel with lake views in the Lake District. We’ve stayed at Holbeck Ghyll Country House and Lodore Falls Hotel.

Thanks. That's not a bad shout. I don't think they've been to the Lakes all that much.

Lynton/ Lynmouth are lovely if you want the sea.

There's some good hotel suggestions for the Lake District on this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/uk/4161432-Another-Place-in-Lake-District
Is there anywhere that would bring back nice memories for them,e.g. Places they went on holiday as children, or when first married?

@emmathedilemma good point, the cotswolds I think. Perhaps will just go with that. North Devon sounds great but perhaps a little far

Hi zip, sorry to hear your sad news.
We are midlands based too and often pop to the Cotswolds for the night. We actually stayed in a premier inn last time in Chipping Norton (I think). It was super cheap and super handy!

The other place we visited last year was Oxford and we had a lovely time there too
