Hello
I'm looking to book a summer break with my young family. We have two children aged 7 and 2 so activities are important and would like to be close to a beach. Has anyone been to any nice holiday parks? Ideally a nice caravan or lodge. Thanks in advance x

Try Searles in Hunstanton, Norfolk.
A bit pricey but well worth itSmileSmile

I like Seafield caravan park at Seahouses on the Northumberland coast. It's expensive but a lovely location. I did enjoy cheaper coastal caravan parks but found them a bit noisy with drunk adults and feral children.

I like quieter parks in interesting locations.

I was going to say Searles too.

They have a large variety of caravans and lodges, so it can be cheap-ish. We tend to book one with a hot tub though.

If you go, don’t bother with the on-site chippy. The one 5 minutes walk away by the fair is better and cheaper.

Hopton near yarmouth is great. We went for years when the kids were little.

St David's Park at Red Wharf Bay in Anglesey is lovely. Dont know if it's 'busy' enough for you but you can easily do trips into North Wales from there and there is plenty to do.

I think our favourite so far has been Devon Cliffs. It's got such beautiful views and an amazing beach. We booked a private caravan and it was huge and beautifully furnished. We were really impressed.

What is your budget? they vary a lot in price and facilities. We have used park holidays and park resorts which are fairly basic but kids loved it, the cheesier the nighttime entertainment the better they seem to think and they love bingo!

I would work out where in the country then use Google maps to find all the parks there including independent.

If you want posher, my sil loves Bluestone but they don't allow dogs so didn't work for us.

Another vote for Devon cliffs, we accidentally went there a few years ago (last minute bank holiday deal bargain), we usually stay in quieter sites as my dc both have ASD but we thought we would give Devon cliffs a go as everything else was booked up. We didn’t have to leave the site at all as everything was on site, places to eat, activities, shop and play areas.

Only issue we had was with our caravan, when we got there we discovered the sofa was wet and smelt of wee 🤮, it was impossible to find someone to come and sort it out so I just went to the shop and bought cleaning products and cleaned it myself. We didn’t complain because the caravan had already been upgraded to a bigger van without asking and we had the perfect spot with a sea view and play area near by.

We have also stayed in a few park resort places including the isle of white and Bude (Cornwall), they have all been ok too but not as much on site as heaven.

Parkdean Ruda in Croyde bay is stunning!

Searles in Hunstanton is great and near to all the attractions, walking distance for most things too
