Just that really, We are looking to move the family closer to the Peak District but looking for somewhere that will still have work opportunities but don't really know too much about the town.

Bloody awful.

It has an interesting church tower but IMO is a bit grim.

Lovely traditional market town, great transport links if you can drive.
Like any town there are different areas

No idea about schools

Dronfield is nearby - nice town and good schools

Thank you for all of your replies! I will check out Dronfield. Is there anywhere else that is good for families and work? We visit Matlock,Ashbourne,Wirksworth, Bakewell etc alot and love those area's but will struggle for work I think in my husband's line of work.

I grew up very near to there. There are some really nice parts, and like most places there are the not so nice bits. You are really close to Sheffield as well as the Peak District. Holymoorside and some bits of Walton are nice, depends whether you want to be more close to the town or more out in the sticks. Places like Ashover are lovely if you want to be more out into the countryside, or at the other end of town Barlow and Baslow.

Cutthorpe and Barlow are lovely.

Bakewell is overrun with tourists in the summer so beware of that.

Also consider Dore and Eccleshall road/S-west Sheffield
