Best farm stay with lots of farming activities?

DD is desperate for us to move to a farm and to be a livestock farmer. Obviously this is not exactly likely to happen but I thought it would be nice to let her try some of the activities on a farm stay just in case this is her future vocation and I am being too sceptical GrinGrinGrin

Has anyone been to a good farm stay? We did glamping in Cornwall somewhere where she could collect eggs and feed the pigs which was good. Somewhere nice for the adults as well would be ideal!

Bonus points if equestrian activities available...!

Is the West Country a possibility for you? If so, Stolford Farm near Watchet (Somerset) might fit your bill, or Mill Farm near Bridgwater. Disclaimer: I have no connection to or vested interest in either of these places, just an awareness of their existence!

Thank you. Anywhere in the UK a possibility but particularly want somewhere where there are farming activities to try / knowledge about farming imparted rather than just situated on a farm

I have friends who stopped here before - it’s a working farm with lots going on, although not a farming experience per se, I know they loved it.

How old is she? If mid teens onwards, could you make friends with any local farmers who need a hand? I worked on my uncle’s beef and sheep farm most Saturdays through my mid teens and loved it, used to drive the tractor, make up feed and feed the animals, help at shearing and dipping time, baling hay, all sorts.

What age are we talking?

We haven't been yet but are very much looking forward to staying at Smallicombe Farm next Easter with our then 3 year old. Their website definitely sold it when I was looking for a farm stay for our toddler (I have a farming background myself and he loves animals)

Would love that @Mumblechum0

She is only 7 so not much help to anyone for a while! We have a young farmers' club nearby from 11 if the passion lasts!

She's obsessed with that Yorkshire farm programme where quite young children help out (not always in the safest ways however Hmm)

Not exactly a farm but we stayed here in Robin Cottage which has a hot tub, we only stayed 2 nights but kids could feed the alpacas each day and you can buy llama / alpaca walks across Dartmoor or round the farm.

Other place we sae but didn't go to was Puddleduck valley, which included some farmer type activities for kids and has great reviews.
