What's open in the Brecon Beacons?

We are going to the Brecon Beacons next week and I'm aware that pubs won't be open. And apparently the mountain railway won't either 😭

Has anyone got any insider knowledge to what attractions will be open? We are planning on hikes etc but have a two year old who will want to do some kiddie things.

Are there any good places to see trains etc (ie nice bridge/viaducts) even if the tourist train isn't running?

Thank you in advance

Cantref is open www.cantref.com
Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary
Cyfarthfa Park
Carreg Cennen www.carregcennencastle.com
The Show Caves www.showcaves.co.uk/index.html
The Dragon Inn Crickhowell is open and usually has a good children’s menu. Usually they’d have high chairs and crayons too.
Take a kite – on windy days, Sugar Loaf is a great flying spot.

Thank you so much. Love al of these suggestions. I cannot wait to get my toddler out into the fresh air and these places look perfect!

Hi OP we are heading this way next week with older DC than yours - and think we are in for a wet one! Would love to hear any recommendations based on your or other peoples trips. Worried we are going to struggle a bit more if it’s too wet to be outdoors a lot of the time as we had hoped !
Thanks

The four waterfalls walk is great, probably more for slightly older dc than toddler, unless you can carry on backpack. Go early before car parks are full.

Thanks @TW2013 that’s a great reminder as someone had mentioned that to me a while ago - our DC should be old enough, is it sheltered enough to be a safe bet on a wet day?

You get wet anyway, especially if you go behind one. The descent paths might be a bit slippery if heavy rain I guess.

Good point about getting wet anyway ! Thanks it’s firmly on the list.

Llangorse lake is gorgeous. Look up Ty Mawr tea rooms. Really special after a long walk around the lake. You can go boating and feed the ducks. Garw nant is also.open with a good playground.
