A lot of the museums have reopened just recently but you do need to book timed entry slots so they can regulate numbers.

Hi, yes there's lots reopening now, most need prebooking. For teens I'd recommend God's Own Junkyard in Walthamstow which you just turn up to, Fri-Sun. I'm booked to go to the Andy Warhol at Tate Modern which should be good for teens as it deals with subjects like the cult of celebrity. There may be some saucy bits. I've written a blog post for 50 things to do with kids in the summer holidays which whilst it's aimed at younger kids might give you an idea of what is reopening and how to book. museummum.com/2020/07/16/summer-2020/

Many things are open now, but not all the cafés are so I would plan on bringing a picnic where possible. Remember you will need to wear a face mask on the tube.

Yes a lot of the galleries are re-opening. You can still hire boris bikes and get around town - through regents park or hyde park would be nice. I'd normally suggest Camden Market or Brick Lane markets with teens but I'm not sure if they have re-opened yet - I think they are soon in August. Covent Garden can be nice too for a wander. Junkyard golf in Brick Lane is fun and will be opening on 10th August. Also getting the river bus between Tate Modern and Tate Britain is nice - past all the main sites - and not expensive either.

@BlusteryLake thank you, aiming to walk everywhere and avoid public transport wherever possible

If you like outdoor swimming you might consider a dip in Hampstead ladies pond. It’s lovely but you need to book a slot in advance.

Husband and daughter visited the Southbank the other day, and it was quiet. The London Eye was closed, he says. We live in East Dulwich and tbh it's busier in the suburbs than in town.

Check online first and book in advance. Take a packed lunch, hand sanitiser and masks. Any kids 11 and over have to wear one on public transport.

A week ago I went up to town and hired a Santander bike to ride through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. After being couped up for so long, it was lovely. In a week's time, my daughter and I are going to the National Gallery. Booking tickets was a cinch. We might go to the Zoo at some point too.

Forgot to say, the Tower of London is open. Apparently it's a dream to visit without stepping on tourist toes all the time.
