We're booked to stay at talacre beach resort North Wales 17th July (unless it's cancelled before then) we normally go further west so looking for tips on what we can do with kids (age 3, 8 and 10) in and around that area e.g nice beaches, walks, castles etc. Ideally around 30 min drive away if possible as oldest son asd and not good on long drives. Any tips/ideas gratefully received!!

Greenfield Valley Heritage Park is good. There’s an adventure tree house and swings, maze, soft play for little ones and some good walks.

Dysert waterfall is lovely. There's a lovely beach at Talacre.

My top tip
www.donthibernate.co.uk/route-1-llandudno-from-m62-m56/
10 mins drive to Prestatyn, Kims Cafe for breakfast. 5 mins drive to the Roman Villa, another 5 mins to Dyserth falls, walk through the woods, give the kids a torch each so they can go in the cave its only small but an adventure.
about 10 mins drive to Rhuddlan castle.
Down the roman road to the A55 and on to Rhos on sea its about 20-30 mins. Excellent beach few boat trips etc, drive the coats road past the Golf course to angel bay, short walk to se if the seals are on the beach.
10 mins over the little arm to Llandudno, drive to the top or the goat orm, on you way down take the Toll road its £2 but well worth it for the views, brings you out at Llandudno's second beach.
Now apart from breakfast and the castle its all free, you can see the castle from the road so its not really worth paying.

Thanks all - now restrictions are lifted it's looking good for us to go! Sounds like there's plenty to do as well!

Its a very nice part of the world, some thing you have to dig out
This is just down the road less than 10 mins drive, its just unusual, used to be a big attraction in the 80's

We had a lovely holiday at Talacre beach resort 2 years ago! I agree with everyone else, we also went to Llandudno for the day.

it's a lovely area, I'm sure you'll have a lovely time. I just wanted to check that you knew that cafes, pubs, indoor tourist places etc won't be open to go inside. I think it's very unfair that people coming from outside Wales haven't had this explained to them when they book accommadation.

BingThing · 07/07/2020 08:09

Thanks for letting me know @Mamimawr. We will be happy outside by sounds of things - just fingers crossed for dry weather but we did Cornwall last year in the rain and still had a good time! I've booked something with hot tub so hopefully we can use that as a swimming pool substitute whatever the weather x isn't mumsnet great for getting holiday tips love it! Xx

The Local amusement arcade had a small bowling alley worth looking to see if they still have, it ideal if its wet
