Recommendations for UK holiday with teens

Hoping to have a UK holiday this summer with our 3 dds aged 19, 17 and 13.

They love beach holidays/sitting by the pool but that will obviously depend on the pool being open and also the weather.

We've thought of Cornwall or Devon? Maybe Dorset around Bournmouth? Somewhere else?

Any ideas please? Looking for hotel accommodation not self-catering.

the manor house hotel might be worth a look?

they have loads of activities, and when you book you get free access to all of them and the spa/pool. It's located in Devon

Watergate Bay hotel or Bedruthan Hotel

Bedruthan, that takes me back Grin We have been 6 times when the dc were small. We've definitely outgrown it with adult/nearly adult children.

Activities, pools and communal areas are all going to be closed in holiday camps this summer. I can't imagine hotels will be any different

I know it seems unlikely but walking holidays have always been the most successful with my teens, with couple of activity days to break it up, maybe high ropes or mountain biking. While walking they actually chat properly and whilst they not relish the prospect once out genuinely seem to enjoy it.

I like the doing the long distance trails through a company that arranges all the bookings and transport.

Isle of Wight! Great place to go on holiday. The ferry makes it like going abroad. Lots to do and easy to navigate by public transport so they could go explore a bit by themselves.

alton towers!

Headland Hotel and lots of paddle boarding/surfing, and their new swimming pool centre thing.

also interested in a holiday for a teenager, but also one that is fully dog friendly with a pool, a beach, lots to do.

Do they like fishing? White acres near Newquay's great if they do and handy for Fistralbay etc

Tronkmanton · 19/06/2020 18:19

@WowLucky that sounds like a great idea, can you recommend any companies please?

Snoodleberry · 19/06/2020 18:23

@nextslideplease we go to the Headland just because they are so dog friendly. 🐶 I like staying in the hotel if it’s just me and DH, but we stay in a cottage if we have DDs with us.

We've used Exodus and Explore in the past, had some amazing adventure holidays abroad(don't look if that's out of the question, you'll want to do them all!) but also some good UK walking and cycling holidays.

For this year I'm looking at some of the less well trodden trips offered by Mickeldore. I haven't used them but have heard great things.

We also did the Dales Way independently, booking the B&Bs ourselves, which is undoubtedly cheaper and I suppose the organisation is part of the fun but it was a lot of work.

Thank you Smile
