Any recommendations for a luxury (not romantic) holiday for a family of 5 in the Lake District. If holidays happen this year.
Also what activities can you do?

Lake District is brilliant, love it to bits and loads for folks to do. If you wanted to be near a town with the boat trips and restaurants on your doorstep Fallbarrow is a nice place on the outskirts of Bowness on Windermere with lodges and caravans you could get one with a hot tub.

Or if you prefer to be a bit more rural Hartsop Fold lodges have hot tubs and brilliant walks from the doorstep and excellent food at a pub within walking distance.

It does really help if you like the outdoors and walking. Whats nice about Lake District is you can do a variety of outings - we do walks that end with a boat trip or steam train.

I really hope we get to go on our Lake District trip in October that we were meant to be on right now - fingers crossed Smile.

What about a lakeside property? Lake District is really great for families. If you love towns, then I recommend Fallbarrow near Lake Windermere as well. Do some research. There are lots of properties with a hot tub. Ask around for recommendations or search online.

Sorry to say but doesn’t the Lake District have huge amounts of rain?

Sorry..

We live between the Lake District and North Wales.
We feel North Wales has a bit more to offer.
We try to go to the Lakes only when the forecast is very good which isn't very often, all those lakes are due to the rain, but we ten to go more in the winter as its so spectacular.
Have a look here

I would look at the activities you want and then plan accommodation around it.
Some good North Wales places here

Now for golf
The llyn Peninsular has this golf course

And a few surf schools
Some excellent beaches.

We took the teens here for Clay pigeon shooting and Go Kart racing, they do quite a few other activities.
