We are a group of 14 adults and 20 children from little babies to teens. Scattered around the country so looking for somewhere central to stay. Anyone have recommendations for accommodation for large groups such as this?
Air bnb options I’ve found look eye wateringly expensive...

If you want cheap, book a bunch of caravans together on a pretty site, maybe in the Lakes as that's quite central.

All the places I could suggest that fit so many people are genuinely eye waveringly expensive. Gorgeous but not budget.

We have a similar group to yours, what about a youth hostel. In the off season you can book many yha for exclusive use.
We've been to elterwater hostel a few times, it's independent rather than yha but central for those coming from both North and south.

Try searching for bunkhouses if you are happy to sleep in bunkbeds and all mix in together. We did it last year for a friends birthday - it was a teaching farm and each room had about 6 beds in it.

Thanks for these they’ve given me loads more options to investigate!

@xyzandabc - that's a good idea. We did that for my father's 70th and had a great time.

I would go for North Wales, plenty of Bunk houses, Caravans etc.
Lots to see and do in a compact area, you can be in Chester or Liverpool shopping in an hour, or up a mountain or on the beach.
Some ideas

Large properties are expensive but if you’re dividing it between several families they usually work out quite affordable and most are really lovely. The downside of multiple smaller units is that you won’t be able to eat and socialise together as easily.....now that might be a benefit if you don’t want to be in each other’s pockets all the time, or it might be a deal breaker? I guess you need to decide what will suit your group best. I’ve done camping where there’s the option to have a static caravan for those who don’t do tents, bunkhouse type accommodation and luxury almost stately homes and all have been great breaks.
