Norfolk - Somewhere like Blakeney but with a beach!

Hoping to head to Norfolk for Easter, we have been once before and stayed in Blakeney which we loved but I think the DCs would like to be close to a beach ideally.

I have also been to Sheringham and Cromer before but didn't like those so much.

Can anyone recommend any other villages in Norfolk to look at that are small with a similar vibe to Blakeney?

Sheringham and Cromer are too bucket and spade if you likely Blakeney.

Brancaster and Thornham are both lovely with beaches. Wells next the sea has a beach but isn't anywhere near as twee as Blakeney. Salthouse is just down the road and has a pebble beach and an awesome pub!

Overstrand and Holkham both have nice beaches. Something to be aware of though given that you have children, it certainly used to be the case that only the bigger more touristy places had lifeguards... I grew up in North Norfolk :)

West Runton.

burnham overy staithe is lovely, coast path to the beach (east end of holkam beach). just be aware that its tidal on the quay/ carpark area! I`ve seen (and chuckled) cars/ campers with water lapping at the wheels!

It's a long walk to the sea at Holkham beach!

Wells is lovely, more of a town than village though and you need to walk along to Pinewoods to get the beach, or get the train.

Mundesley on the east coast is nice and has a lovely sandy beach.

I just came to second the pub in Salthouse. Their lobster and chips are amazing.
I have great childhood memories of Brancaster beach and rock pooling their although I know a lot of their rock pools have been washed away. A bit further south, we discovered Horsey beach last year. It is just beach, no town, shops or even car park so you need to get there early to get a parking space on the lane but well worth it.

Did you go on a seal spotting boat last time? My kids love that.

There are good rock pools at West Runton...never known any at Brancaster.

Check the map wherever you go. Many places have a long walk across a marsh path or bank to get to the beach.

#BlouseAndSkirt No, unfortunately my memories are of the beach 30 years a go. We used to spend hours finding hermit crabs and watching them swap in to new shells we found. I haven't been there for years but know there has been a dramatic change of the coast since then.

theres a carpark at pinewoods (the beach). nice cafe too.

if you want rockpooling. hunstanton next to the cliffs!!
