London hotels suitable for toddler

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can offer some advice? I am wanting to go to London in the summer. It would be me, DH and our toddler. So need a room that will have an extra bed and also somewhere that feels comfortable for families?

I have obviously looked at loads of online reviews but they are so many contrasting comments.

Well The Ritz or similar probably are not great ideas. However I would choose an area and take it from there. Also consider if you need to be close to a transport hub such as Kings Cross. What do you want to see and how will you get there? What do you want in the locality of the hotel?

Obviously chain hotels eg Premier Inn, have good locations and are not expensive. Further out the hotels become a bit cheaper, but you need to consider transport. Eg Dorsett Hotel is handy for Westfield and Central Line and is often a good price for London.

Most hotels accommodate toddlers and most hotels have guests who complain! I think location and price would mean a lot to me.

What are your plans for your time in London? Are there particular places/areas you want to visit?

@BubblesBuddy I've stayed at the ritz with a toddler. They gave her special bath kit for dc and a teddy. Don't write anything off OP.
I usually find a hotel and then put children in the search review section and see what people say.
What's your budget and what do you want to see?

All the major chains can accommodate a toddler - comes down to price really. I stayed in the Greenwich novotel when mine were tiny

Meant to say find a hotel I like then look it up on tripadvisor then search in the reviews for children *

It will be our first trip to London with DD so we just want to do 2 or 3 nights. Planning on visiting the Science Museum and Transport Museum. And because we are going in summer then hopefully just visiting parks etc the rest of the time.

From what I’ve seen on trip advisor and Expedia then probably budget of £400 to £600 for 2 or 3 nights. So about £200 per night roughly. Can go a little more if the hotel seems worth it. Would like a room where can sit down rather than just beds. I have looked at one Hotel website tonight that says a room is suitable for 2 adults and a child but then has no sofa bed and specifically says cannot accommodate a temporary bed? So I don’t know why it says suitable for 3!

Thank you to everyone so far, and for the tips on searching trip advisor with specific words.

I would personally recommend looking at something like a one bedroom Airbnb apartment, maybe with a bit of outside space if you can. A small garden or balcony will great for everyone - a nice toddler novelty and somewhere for a glass of wine in the evening.

In a hotel room it will be hard to put your toddler down to sleep in the evening, while still allowing you and your husband time to watch a bit of tv/have a chat/have a nice meal/takeaway.

Maybe somewhere in West London? The Children’s garden at Kew is nice for toddlers and it it is easy to get into central London from Chiswick/Richmond/Brentford.
