We are going to bognor in sept (well we are going with eddas and family we went to spain last year with them and abroad with toddlers is far to much hard work so butlins was teh choice this year!!)

Really looking forward to it, sil/bil went last yr with il's and neice/nephew (were 5 and 6 at the time)didnt want to come home. They stayed in the hotel bit at bognor and loved it but we have gone for silver chalet/apartment accomodation (have heard lots of dodgy stories about bronze accomodation!)

We booked in jan (day after I came home from hospital after having dd2) our 5 day break mon-fri in sept was only £180 which I think its good value!

I love Butlins Skeggy, took ds1 a couple of years ago, then went back this year for my birthday, an adults only 80's weekend.

Will be going next year I hope, finances allowing!

Went to Skeggy earlier this year - fantastic - only complaints were the tiny shower cubicle and the price of the drinks in the bars - but it was a Sun break and we took most of our own drinks . There was so much to do, the shows were fab. There is some free stuff - a small fun fair, a massive wooden "fruit shoot fort". If you do go and there is a I-Spy Titan show make sure you see it it is excellent - I can't wait to go again next year.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you there sweetie!!!

Sorry to hijack this thread but I am so happy that quite a few of you commend skeggy as I am going on Monday for 4 days with 2 dd (16 & 4) and 2 ds (10 & 1)booked Gold half board as the last time we went to Butlins (2 years ago), the food is fully buffet style with a huge variety. The children stuffed themselves for breakfast and were usually not hungry until dinner time when they stuffed themselves again. But to be honest Bognor during school hols is definately a no no. while they have this nice hotel, they have not increased the capacity of the place so attending shows, performances and swimming pool, the place is usually very crowded. Even parking is a bit of a nightmare if you drive down. Happy hols regardless.

have confessed a mini meet up to DH but in mock surprise that someone else will be there..even though he knows I have a bundle of clothes to send to you he hasnt twigged

JARM · 15/08/2007 20:06

ROFL

Bless him - it will be exciting!!!

You never know, I might end up there at the same time too! I'm looking at booking to go next year as it's the last year before ds1 starts school, and ds2 won't be quite so small anymore

Nemo2007 · 15/08/2007 22:32

Ellie we booked that week as its 2nd week of whit holidays as DS starts school nursery in sept but gets 2wks off then.

EllieK · 15/08/2007 22:38

I know it's hols, I need to go away in school hols as I will have a friend with me with school age children, just that ds1 goes away with daddy too, and once he's at school we'll have to fit those trips into school hols too!
