We are heading to Paulton park next week with our 2 and 3 year old kids. We will be visiting the park one day but were wondering if there is any other child friendly attractions in the area?

We are also heading to London after that, I would like to see Madam Taussauds, maybe hyde park if the weather is nice bit not sure what else to do with the kids in tow? I have been to London in more recent times for weddings and been shopping but would like to see more of the attractions. Any help would be much appreciated!

sir harold gardens in Romsey (so close to Pautons park) is lovely, there is a nice play park for the kids. in terms of london, the transport museum is worth a visit with the kids x

The New Forest. My home :)

New Forest wildlife park. It's a few years since we were there but my DD was 2 and a half at the time and enjoyed it.

I live in the New Forest too!

What would you like to do?

KitKat1985 · 04/09/2019 20:26

Monkey world isn't too far away from there, and is a good day out for young children who like monkeys. Smile

I would avoid Madame Tussauds especially with such young kids. The museums-Science, Natural History and Museum of London are free and more child friendly.
Green Park has a play area good for small kids near Buckingham Palace.
You could ride around on a bus and see a lot from the top deck.
Trip to Greenwich on the boat; again a nice park.

Madame tussauds would be a nightmare with kids so young.

I would go to the aquarium or the science museum which is much more interactive. The transport museum is also great for younger ones.

For London head towards Hyde park Lancaster Gate, the parrots are tame there and sit all over you to be fed nuts! The science museum and natural history museum are just off from Hyde park (South Kensington) with plenty to do for little ones. Take them on the Thames clipper for a ride it’s much cheaper than the tour boats and you can get off right underneath the London eye/London aquarium. There’s loads to do but those are my most recent outings. Greenwhich maritime museum has a kiddies play area and the park beside it is lovely. Clipper boats go to Greenwich pier from London eye

@Vinorosso74 great minds Grin

Onthetrain75 · 04/09/2019 20:34

Definitely the New Forest - there’s Beaulieu Motor Museum, donkeys and ponies at Lyndhurst (please don’t touch!). Mottisfont national trust near Romsey has a children’s play area, Poppies at Timsbury for some crafting if it’s a rainy day. Hawk Conservancy near Andover is great, as is New Forest animal centre and Longdown farm at Marchwood. Have fun!

Vinorosso74 · 04/09/2019 20:42

@MrsA2015 indeed although I forgot the Transport museum!

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. We went to paultons today and are heading out to Marwell zoo tomorrow, will hopefully get a chance to check the new forest too. I have passed on your thoughts about Madame tussauds to my DH and he agrees that we should give it a miss this time. We will hopefully get to check out the museums though around Hyde park.
