Might seem like a really silly question, but do I need my passport if I’m just flying to Scotland ( from Heathrow )

I think you might need it for ID? We're in Scotland, DH flies to England quite often, always takes his but I don't know how often he actually needs to show it.

If you have a driving licence you can use that instead

No. But you’ll need some form of official ID. Check your airline website

From Heathrow you will either be flying BA or Flybe.

Photographic ID. So if there is a passport it is often easier to take it than not. Flybe will accept an expired (within 2 years) passport.

Photo Id is fine I don't have a driving licence so I do take my passport ifim flyiing to NI.

Mrsjayy · 02/08/2019 09:48

Dds and Dh use their driving licences

Not a silly question, you need ID but a driving licence also works.

Flybe look at it, but BA didn't seem to care on our last trip (although they refused to let us check in online because the passport information was out of date - how they knew I don't know as I had renewed my passport long before its expiry date due to Brexit and the old one was valid until December this year!)
