If I only go to Cornwall once, where should I go?

... To really get the Cornwall beautiful beaches, great food, charming vibe?

In my almost 40 years Grin I’ve never made it over. Thinking of going this summer (it’s a long way). But overwhelmed with lots of different locations.

Not looking for budget as such, but buckets of charm and loveliness.

Watergate Bay, Newquay! Google it at the very least!

ainslieb · 22/07/2019 10:11

Also, Scarlet hotel

Place marking!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 22/07/2019 10:17

If you want rough, rugged Cornish coastline somewhere like Mullion Cove

MsMustDoBetter · 22/07/2019 10:19

Stay in Port Isaac and travel to a different beach every day.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 22/07/2019 10:19

...although now having read your post properly that's maybe not what you want Blush

TeeBee · 22/07/2019 10:22

No! Not Newquay...it's grim. Harlyn, Padstow, Looe.

EleanorReally · 22/07/2019 10:24

where they film Doc Martin, is that Port Isaac?

EleanorReally · 22/07/2019 10:24

Falmouth is lovely
as is Looe, Polperro

londonloves · 22/07/2019 10:25

Looe, Falmouth or St Ives

Time40 · 22/07/2019 10:30

Ooooh, that's difficult - it's all so lovely. I don't think you could go wrong with St Ives, though. My second choice would be Lizard.

crow2018 · 22/07/2019 10:41

St Ives is beautiful

dontticklethetoad · 22/07/2019 10:44

St Ives, Tintagel, Newlyn, Mousehole, Sennen, Lamorna, Perranporth, Holywell Bay.

greystar30 · 22/07/2019 10:45

We used to go to Looe a lot, it was lovely 😊

ballsdeep · 22/07/2019 10:46

Has anyone visited the poldark mines?

teenmum18 · 22/07/2019 10:47

Kynance cove is stunning I can't wait to go back.

If I only go to Cornwall once, where should I go?
MrsMiggins37 · 22/07/2019 10:49

Mevagissey, Marazion, Sennen

Not so keen on St Ives, Padstow although the beaches in St Ives are lovely.

ineedaholidaynow · 22/07/2019 10:50

A bit further to travel but the Scilly Isles

FaFoutis · 22/07/2019 10:50

Don't go in the school holidays if you can help it. June or September are the best times.

MrsMiggins37 · 22/07/2019 10:51

Oh and I hadn’t been until I was 40 and now on my way home from my 4th visit. I live in Scotland so it’s a very long way!

MiniMum97 · 22/07/2019 10:52

South Cornwall is beautiful. Roseland peninsula. Fowey.

Bunnylady53 · 22/07/2019 11:00

Definitely Kynance Cove & The Lizard - one of my fav places in the world. Some of the areas where Poldark was filmed, including Pedn Vounder beach. National Trust properties/ gardens including Lanhydrock, Cotehele House & Mill, Trerice. Lots of little fishing villages such as Polperro, Mevagissey etc. The Roseland Peninsula. Whale watching off the Penzance coast. Do the river walk near The Pandora Inn.

Ellabella989 · 22/07/2019 11:02

Marazion beach is gorgeous! Mousehole is also very quaint with its pretty harbour.

Bunnylady53 · 22/07/2019 11:02

Another vote for Marazion & St Michael’s Mount.
Tintagel & St Nectan’s Glen
Boscastle

Newquay centre might be grim, but watergate Bay is anything but.

Padstow is lovely but tiny.

Rock is also lovely but small.
