Holiday place to rent for DD and her friends?

I'm looking for a house to rent for DD's 18th for a couple of nights. I've looked on Airbnb but the problem is the sleeping arrangements. For one reason or another the girls aren't really up for sharing doubles, so I need as many twin rooms as possible. I'd started off looking at Center Parcs but you need someone aged 21 in the party. Also I'm also paying for it myself so I'm trying to keep the costs down.

They're not looking for a party house or any nightlife nearby. They don't drink and are all geeks so will likely just play board games all weekend. Open plan layout downstairs would be better.

I'm looking at Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire border area really, though West Sussex is an option too. Does anyone know of anywhere please?

Will definitely look at glamping. DD did mention a yurt would be fun, so is clearly open to the idea of that kind of thing. The Dorset Resort looks lovely and a lot like what I had in mind. Expensive though, especially at half term. I'm going to have to adjust my expectations of how much this is going to cost!

Center Parcs want £799 for 3 nights. Shock I balk at paying that for one villa, let alone 2! If it had been more reasonable that would have been a good idea. DS could have had a nice little holiday out of it too.

I might see if changing the dates would be an option and going before her birthday. Not sure the mums will be keen as the friends will all be in their 2nd year of A levels and they'll probably feel more comfortable doing this in the break. But I'll have a chat with them.

Be careful if you're booking Airbnb. I think it's in their T&C that the person booking it needs to be in the party that's going.
I think you might find what you want by looking for bigger properties as most have at least one double. Lake District is a nice location for a chilled out break and should be able to find something reasonable if you go through main holiday rental sites rather than the bijou ones.

rookiemere · 28/06/2019 07:45

Oh scrap the Lake District suggestions I see you're looking further South. How many folks altogether?

rookiemere · 28/06/2019 07:46

Oh ignore me you've answered that already. Must read thread properly before posting Blush

A holiday park is probably the answer, just not a big brand one as they have over 21's rules. We have rented 4 bedroom caravans 3 1 double and 3 twins before. Look at less prestigious companies I'm saying!

stucknoue · 28/06/2019 07:53

Ps we did have 30 young people in 6 caravans and have stayed in several places

I'm not sure anyone will book to young, single sex groups. Your best bet is to book two units together and theoretically split the adults between the two units. A caravan park would work, especially if there is only 5 of them I.e a three bed will be one double bed and four singles.

There used to be some really nice posh but cheap bunkhouses in Wales, Llangorse/brecons area. All bunkbeds, underfloor heating and agas.

Ignore the rude posters OP. There's always one isn't there. I've booked centerparcs for my son and his girlfriend before - both 18, no dates of birth needed.

Hi OP having now read the thread I did a search on Booking.com for 5 bedroom apartments and lodges. Absolutely loads in Wiltshire and not too pricey- disclaimer I know nothing about that area
