Cattle Country, Berkeley Castle, Prinknish Bird Park, Slimbridge off the top of my head.

Stratford park has a swimming pool, duck pond, nice walks and a small free museum. Nice free/cheap day out! Scooter/skateboard ramp too if your dcs like that and the older ones are normally pretty tolerant of the younger ones.

The town centre is quite quirky with some individual shops (but also a bit run down in places). Nice cafes for lunch though and a farmers market on Saturdays.

Nice canal about 15 minutes drive. Walk down the canal from Saul junction with a nice cafe and the marina with the boats tied up is interesting.

Slimbridge wetlands centre is great (a bit more pricey), but loads of birds to see, canoe safari, great splash area and okay areas too. Also 15 minute drive away from Stroud.

Cattle country is great fun
Slimbridge Wetlands centre
Delicious ice cream at Winstones on Rodborough Common
Lots of nice cafes and pubs nearby
Painswick Rococo Gardens
The Museum in the Park
Pittville Park in Cheltenham is nice for kids if you're over there but can get very busy
Rush skate park if it's wet

yy to Slimbridge
We all love Westonbirt Arboretum. good play areas, treetops walk etc. let off steam galloping round the woods and building dens with supplied materials. Plus, very beautiful, especially the blossom and magnolias at this time of year.

SevenSeasofRye · 01/04/2019 19:43

The Rococoo Garden near Painswick. Have a wander round Nailsworth.

Berkeley Castle lovely but has no play area and unlikely the butterfly bit will be open this time of year.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 01/04/2019 20:18

Yeah I saw the butterfly bit isn't open yet.... am a huge history buff though....

In that case go cos it's amazing.
Plenty of dress up and other kids games there and they do a trail for them.
Cafe was also quite nice Smile

Edward Jenner's house and museum is in Berkeley too if you're a history buff (I am too!). Lovely little town. We used to have a pass for Slimbridge too and always really enjoyed that.

BlueChampagne · 02/04/2019 13:46

Lunch and a game of skittles at The Salutation in Ham www.the-sally-at-ham.com/ after Berkeley Castle.

Second Slimbridge and Westonbirt.
Walk in the woods (Randwick, Haresfield beacon, Selsley), especially if bluebells are out.

WhenTheDragonsCame · 02/04/2019 20:21

Slimbridge have celebrity dusty duck trail at the moment.
