Weekend in Earls Court

We are staying at earls court / kensington premier inn for a 2 nights next weekend. Kids are 2 and 5 and we mainly plan to see museums as we don't live in london. We like eating out in the afternoon (fill up on breakfast at buffett), any suggestions that are family friendly..or activities that we might not know about locally. Weather looks dry but pretty cold.
One of our days is the Monday, will everything be much quieter then, or do schools visit museums on weekdays? Thanks all

Playbase at the national army Museum (you need to book a slot in advance though), Holland Park and Hyde park worth a visit. Battersea zoo good for younger kids.

Fantastic, just the kind of place I didn't know about

The Science Museum and Natural History Museum will be much quieter on Monday yes, so I’d strongly suggest doing them then - especially the Nat Hist which is crazy crowded at weekends. There will be some school parties - it will still feel busy - but you can work around them. London Transport Museum is a lot of fun for that age group if they like buses.

A trip on the river going under Tower Bridge is fun - a Transport for London Clipper is much cheaper than a tourist boat and just as much fun if you can manage without a commentary.

Battersea Zoo is cute for locals but you probably have something similar or better in your home town. I’d stick to sightseeing if I were you.

Get a copy of CityMapper on your phone to help you with buses - buses much more fun for sightseeing than the tube as long as you can work out which one to get.

The District Line tube from Earls' Court takes you direct to Westminster where you can see the typical tourist sites e.g. Houses of Parliament, Millennium Wheel, Downing Street, and a walk along the South Bank for photo opportunities and loads of places to eat.

Loads of good ideas here

Timeout for kids

I hadn't thought about a boat. Sounds a good plan to see things without walking too much (5 year old moans, 2 year old will be in pram). We did the transport museum a few years ago and really liked it, but probably it was too recent to go again unless we are passing. I'd not heard of the army museum though and I think that will be very different from things near home. Nat history is top on the list for impact, although I was a bit underwhelmed a few years ago. I think because hot and busy, so will try again.

We are frequent zoo visitors, so unless it's remarkable I probably wont seek out those, not even London zoo. I have poor memories of it as a kid although that was 30 years ago.

Any ideas on buzzing but kid friendly places to eat?
I use trip advisor but it's hard to find family places sometimes that are not the obvious chains.
