Where should we stop on drive from Yorkshire to Devon?

As the title says really. We're planning a holiday in Devon and looking at somewhere to stop in between there and Yorkshire...as close to half way as we can get. We have a 2 year old so somewhere child friendly is essential and it would be great if we could have an activity or somewhere we could take her to, for example, we considered CBeebies land but the drive from there to Devon was still too far.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

West Midland Safari Park. Apart from the drive-through safari, there's a really great feature especially for younger children called Boj's Giggly Park www.wmsp.co.uk/boj-gigglypark/ The discovery trail is also good for small children www.wmsp.co.uk/discovery-trail/ There are lots of suggested places to stay nearby www.wmsp.co.uk/where-to-stay/

I think you're probably looking at more of a stop, but we stop at Gloucester services. They have a small indoor play area, good (expensive) food and a nice (for a motorway services) outdoor area. There's a pond and outdoor seating. I have a now 3 & 4 year old and do that journey quite a lot.

Thank you both! She loves Boj so the safari stop sounds ideal. We’ll also need to stop at services so it’s good to know which ones are decent. Have added them to the itinerary and now just need to find a stop for the way home!

On the way back you might like to stop at Hatton Adventure World. The programme of events changes with the seasons but includes petting and feeding farm animals, inflatables, a tractor safari, indoor soft-play, pony rides, guinea pig village and a puppet theatre. There are too many different activities for me to mention them all so do check out their website. The Haseley Coach House is a good place to stay for that.
