Hi!
I'm new to Mumsnet and am searching for a reasonably priced hotel in London as we want to take my 3yr old to Bob the Builder at the Science Museum over the summer.Ideally we'd like an interconnecting bedroom so there is a separate space for me and my partner once my son is asleep .
Can anyone help us out - normal searches haven't helped much so far...
Thanks

Would self-catering work? Homelidays often has cheap options. VRBO is more pricy I think.

(You could go for a one-bed property that had a fold-out sofa in the living room, for example.)

Alternatively, I used to always make my kid sleep in the bathroom when I just had one. Either set up a travelcot in the bathroom, or get them to sleep in the bathtub. Means you have to pee quietly, but you have the room to yourself. Dunno if a three-year-old would go for it, though.

Try Citadines - they have 1-bed apartments.

Also 196 Bishopsgate.

Not sure how prices will be over summer, but worth a try.

Alternatively, try this link: www.britainexpress.com/great_british_sites/London-fla ts.htm

Can you tell I've been looking too?

we've stayed in hilton connecting rooms but with a good deal.

We stayed in the High Holborn Citadines at New Year and thought it was pretty good for the price. Decor was a little tired but clean and the one-bed was fine for us and three children. They have several central London properties.

Holiday Inn Kensington (Not Kensington Forum, the other one) has the best rooms we've ever stayed in.

They are on two floors with a spiral staircase connecting them. We were upstairs with tv/kettle/bathroom etc and kids were downstairs with their own beds/tv.

The morning breakfast is also to die for. It is just round the corner from the Natural History Museum and on a bus route/tube line so great for sight seeing.

The concierge are also great and can give directions to anywhere.

Thanks everyone! You've been dead helpful!

For a hotel, can´t´recommend highly enough the Sherlock Holmes Hotel on Baker St. They have fab two tier hotel rooms, so there is a lounge downstairs and then on the mezzanine level there is the bedroom and bathroom. We have just stayed with our 2, and it was perfect. Cot and z bed in the room when we arrived, nothing too much trouble. Next to Baker St tube so easy to get everywhere, Tesco Metro next door for snacks and picnics, 5 mins from Regents Park for a run around. And pizza express on the corner for tea. It really was the best experience I´ve had in a hotel with the kids. Posh rooms too - bathrobes, slippers, molton brown and a massive bed. Easily 4 to 5 star.

If you call them, speak to Caroline who is the booking manager. She is lovely. IIRC, our rate on a fri night was 160 inc breakfast.

Have a fab time!
