Luxury hotel in the north of England?

Hi
Me and DP have a special anniversary coming up and want to book in to a really special hotel for the night.
Our budget is approx £400 a night and can be anywhere in the north of England. An example of what we would like is something like one of the boutique suites at the Cranleigh boutique in Windermere thecranleigh.com/luxury-accommodation/boutique-hotel-lake-district/boutique-suites/ but we have stayed their before and want something different.
Ideally it would be within walking distance/short taxi journey to the local town with a decent decent restaurant/bar.
So wise Mumsnetters what can you come up with?
Thanks

I drive past northcote quite regularly and have eaten in the restaurant several times which is amazing in itself! Not got much time to check all these out properly tonight but can't wait to have a good look tomorrow!
