PASSPORT

Hi everyone, I have an appointment for a same-day-passport in 10 days time however I have also been asked to bring supporting documents to the Passport Office as well? My current passport is only expired and not damaged so it will be an adult renewal. Would anyone please be able to advise on which supporting documents I might well have to take with me ? Greatly appreciated any comments/advice. Thanks.x

If it is an adult renewal, I think they just need the old passport? I'll go find the leaflet from DS's recent application and check, I think it's in the recycling pile somewhere...

Yep, according to the leaflet that comes with the paper application form, you don't need any other documents - as long as it is just a straightforward renewal. If your appearance has changed a lot, or there's been a change in other details, you may need other documents.

But I don't work for the so please don't take what I say as 100% gospel - phone them to double check if you're not sure!

I have to say, I was really impressed with their efficiency when I renewed my children's passports this year. DS1's was an online renewal and it arrived within 10 days. DS2's was an urgent fast track appointment job and I had to travel to Glasgow - they advised it would take 7 days. It arrived by courier 2 days later! A massive improvement on five years ago, when my fast track 'within 7 days' passport took 13 days to arrive and cost me hundreds in new flights.

Hi Roomba.
Yes it's a straightforward renewal however it is a ''same day'' that I want. I have been asked to actually take a filled in application form with me to the appointment which I have been told I can collect from the post office. Do you know if they require proof of address on the form, etc? Sorry for the bombard of questions but just want to make sure I have all of the documents they are asking me for befor the appointment. Thanks.x

Just take as much ID as you can. That way you are covered.

And new photos!

dementedpixie · 26/08/2018 11:55

2 new photos (one countersigned if your appearance has changed drastically), application form filled in correctly, old passport.

Brilliant, thank you so much everyone for your advice i'm finding it all very helpful. Can anyone advise on the application form I have been asked to take with me (have to fill it in beforehand). They said I can collect it from the post office however does anyone know if it has a specific name e.g: same day passport application form? Thanks.x

It's just the normal renewal/ application form.
I went to Peterborough a while ago and it was very efficient. Though my photo very much says 'rainy day in Peterborough'!

premiertav · 26/08/2018 14:03

It's just a passport application form. There is only one.

Be aware that not all post offices carry them though.
