Hi I have never been to Belfast before.
Has anyone got any good ideas or recommendations for a couple.
I did see there was a Belfast post on the UK topics but that was more for one night with a child.

I am particularly interested in knowing if anyone has walked the Black Mountain and what that area is like.

Definitely visit the Titanic Museum.
Have a pint in Belfast’s oldest traditional pub – Kelly’s Cellars.
Belfast’s home Ice Hockey team is the Belfast Giant’s. They play their home games at the Odyssey Arena. Ticket prices are not expensive, you can usually get a ticket for about £10. It’s loads of fun and they usually have competitions and give out free Subway and Pizza during the breaks!Undoubtedly one of the best things to do in Belfast.
Do a street art tour of the streets in the Cathedral Quarter. Walks run at 12pm every Sunday.
Visit the amazing St George’s Market. A free market shuttle-bus runs to the market every 20 minutes, 11am - 3pm, to and from the market on Saturdays. www.belfastcity.gov.uk/tourism-venues/stgeorgesmarket/stgeorgesmarketbus.aspx
Visit Belfast’s most historic prison, Crumlin Road Gaol. You can see the prison wings, execution cells and tunnels to the courthouse. It’s brilliantly done and very educational. If you want a bit of light relief after your tour, there’s a café and the building hosts many events from music performances to ghost walks.

Black Mountain is good but I'm not sure what it's like for a "serious" walker. We've only ever done the main path which is a wide paved road. It's quite tricky to get to as well I'm not sure if there's public transport to it.

There's definitely enough to keep you occupied for a few days!

Where are you staying?

Thanks for the advice.
We are staying at the Hampton by Hilton.
We are going to look a thing getting a hockey game. It's the same price as we pay to watch our team. My kids often fly over to watch the Giants. They never mentioned about pizza and subway though!!!

Some great ideas there!

If you want somewhere nice for a walk then go to Belfast Castle and walk up and over the Cavehill - much nicer than Black Mountain and lovely views. For a gentler stroll, then Botanic Gardens is nice and the Ulster Museum and Queens University are right beside it. Lots of nice places to eat and drink in the University quarter.

Oh and I see where you are staying is only about 10 mins walk from Botanic Gardens. You're also right beside the historic Crown Bar. No shortage of great places to eat and drink in Belfast! I would also recommend taking the train out to Cultra and going to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum.

Yes. Lots of nice places to eat close by. Ginger Bistro is very good.

The city bus tour is v good.

Botanic gardens and Ulster museum - the cafe in the museum does nice soup and dp liked the Irish stew.

Crown bar is great, especially if you can get a booth.

This Italian was nice.

City Hall had a good exhibition and good scones!
