Looking for suggestions....I have seen MN loves Efteling in Holland but wonder whether 12yo would be too old for this?

Ideally looking for something in UK, but Europe would be ok too....

Ideas I've already had are: Portsmouth (Historic Dockyard) - and New Forest; Snowdonia National Park (outdoor pursuits). Lake District (ditto).

We already do/have done Devon & Cornwall a lot so looking elsewhere in the UK.

We have booked to go again and the unlimited ski pass for 4 days was 75 euros each! It is about £50 for a 3 hour pass in our local ski centre in the UK!

We didn't do many other activities as DC are ski obsessed, by booking early you do get some free activity vouchers. The kids did paintballing and we all did a canoeing trip down a local river, it was lovely and I don't think expensive.

Last time we went the last week of August when dutch school holidays were over and it was a lot cheaper than earlier in the summer and than the UK (even taking ferry into account). This year we are going in October half term.

European center parcs are not the same standard as the UK though, so we go for VIP accommodation. We paid £1065 euros for Mon to Fri in October half term including unlimited skiing for the DC (not lessons though). Ferry will be on top but is probably about £150-180 both ways.

The £1,065 is pounds not euros, even though it doesn't make much difference at the moment!

We have done the Legoland in Billund. It is right opposite a Danish equivalent of Centreparcs (Lalandia) and about a 15 minute drive from the airport. Thebig plus for us of Legoland in Billund is that they used to open the gates to anybody at about 5pm (so you could dash to do a couple of rides and then walk through mini village with a drink before they closed.

There is also a new Lego Centre in the town itself.

Just remember to use a parking clock if you are driving (yep, even for supermarket 2 hour free parking)
