Will we really love Bluestone ??

Help ! Have read many previous threads on Bluestone and am on the brink of booking a very last minute break there in a couple of weeks ... there is loads about it that appeals to me as our DC are 5 and 7 and would I am sure love it - but DH and I have never done this type of holiday at all, we aren't really the organised activity types - yet I imagine our kids are at the age where we might all have a better time with things being at our fingertips ... the alternative is just a nice Pembrokeshire cottage and we do our own thing but obviously that ends up being a lot of catering etc .
Do I take the plunge ?
Anyone done it and not loved it ??
TIA

We love it. DS is only 3 so we haven’t ever bothered booking any activities. There’s plenty to do inside - play area, restaurants, chill out room, pool and lots of outside things - play area, activities, camp smokey, the lake. We normally take DS out in the morning, back to the lodge for lunch, out to the pub & playpark for an hour (pub is next to the park), wander around the lake/down to camp smokey, dinner. The takeaway pizza was very good this year and the farmhouse grill was really nice too. We just plod & relax, but I’m looking forward to when DS is old enough to do some of the fun activities.

Thanks Oogle that's reassuring - I assume you don't need to go in the school holidays yet ? I worry we might be on top of millions of enthusiastic families Smile

I've just returned from Bluestone. We were 3 gens with pre-teens. It wasn't a holiday we had planned to have, but my in-laws had to rethink their holidays...wanted a holiday at short notice...in the school hols..with cousins. Decent cottages in Wales seemed to be costing a bomb (and minimum booking a week - we just wanted 3-4 days because some would need to break the journey). It isn't a place I thought we'd return to now DD is 11, but it worked.

We first went to Bluestone a few months after it opened; this might have been our 4th visit in a decade (admittedly we've not been for 5 years). i was expecting it to be hellishly busy, but it really didn't feel like that. Admittedly we gave the restaurants a wide berth and we swam early evening. The weather was great, so there was a procession of cars heading down to the various beaches each morning. On the day we stayed on the resort it felt very quiet.

Pack a couple of scooters/balls/kites and they will have a great time!

Thanks madcats I think we are going to give it a go - as I think we need to see if it's for us instead of reverting to what we think we like and then realising it's not actually a break !
DH was surprisingly easy to persuade - it sounds like it has something for everyone!

We loved it but it's not like center parcs where you stay on site, there probably isn't enough to do but the local area eg Tenby is stunning.

It's nice but not much onsite can get boring. Defo have to get out and about when there. I personally wouldn't go again.

Thanks for extra replies . We would definitely like to get off site if weather good. We are looking at 4/5 nights so hopefully wouldn't get bored . Tricky to decide though as everything is £££££ in school holidays and we have left it late !
