Lydstep Beach Haven - Tenby

foxybingodotcom · 30/06/2018 22:42

We're heading here on Monday for 5 days for our summer staycation. I've left it a bit late but any advice or recommendations on things to do / places to eat or even on the Have itself would be appreciated!

TIA!

Tenby is great !
My favourite cafe is Cafe Vista
Folly Farm is a good day out for families
Havent actually been to Lydstep Haven , but there are loads of lovely beaches around , and the weather is going to be fabulous

Anna’s Welsh zoo is also lovely for a day visit, smaller than Folly Farm. We stayed at Lydstep several years ago and could use facilities at the massive Kiln park too. Beach at Lydstep is pebbly not sandy so take wellies

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned Dinosaur Park. It would be perfect for 6yo boys!
Folly Farm is also highly recommended. It's way more than just your average farm park. It's got penguins, lions, giraffes, meerkats, rhinos and a few other exotic animals. Its also a fairground too. When my DS was 6, he could spend ages on the diggers and at the go-kart tracks!
Castle Beach is nice. At low tide it is possible to walk out to St. Catherine's Island and to explore the many rock pools around the cliffs. There are also boat trips from the beach at low tide.
Stowaway Coffee Co is my favourite.

Parts of Lydstep beach is pebbly, it'll depend on the tide. Reef runners rather than wellies.

Lydstep headland is a circular route, breathtaking views.

My kids love Manorbier beach, building dams in the stream, freedom of whole neach but still within sight, free parking on the hill if you get there early enough, paid parking in car park.

Places to eat: Waves in the village (walkable from the caravans thro the golf course by the kids play area). We also like Kookaba in Saundersfoot but book now before you go cos they are always busy (leave a message on their answer machine .. they ring you back), proper portions.
We like Moorings in Tenby too.

I love this part of Pembs.
