Cheltenham tomorrow - what should we see?

Hi,

We are going to Cheltenham for the day tomorrow. Have never been there before. We have to dd age 7 and 10. Quite happy to just have a mooch so doesn't need to necessarily be big things but what should we do or see while we are there? Dds like parks and playgrounds and I fancy a stroll around some pretty shops streets.

Any ideas very welcome! Thanks.

There's a lovely park on the Pittville Estate and includes Pittville Pump Room. Car parking is available behind the pump room, on Ablemarle Gate Road and on Evesham Road. The park is split in half by the Evesham Road, access via underpass. The pump room side has an extensive fenced play area, and a Peacock Palace (which also includes guinea pigs, lop eared rabbits, chipmunks and fancy birds). The toilets are close to this play area.
The award winning central cross cafe is along the footpath from the stone bridge. The trees around the cafe are great to explore.
West of the Evesham Road, you can take a circular walk along side the lake, via the new waterside natural play park and cross the new community bridge.

Thank you so much for your helpful reply Smile

That sounds great and perfect for our dds. Thanks for the detailed info about where everything is. They will love the guinea pigs etc.

Xx

If you are around, can I just ask - do you happen to know whether we could pay for parking all day over there and if so, could we walk to most things from there? Thank you.

There is free parking at Pittville Pump Room, plus a few parking spaces on Evesham Road, some on Pittville Lawn and a small car park near the golf course (GL50 4NG). If the car park is full, just off Evesham Road on West Drive there is some free street parking which usually has spaces with 1-4 hour stay limits, GL50 4LB.

The town centre is walkable from the southern side of the park. It might be a bit much for little legs though if you're going to be walking around the park too, especially on a hot day.
