Hello there,
I am writing to ask about the attractions outside of London. I am looking for the best places for my family in my son's spring term. I've searched several beaches in overseas, but I am not sure I can bring my dog. Also, I wonder what there are amazing attractions outside of London.

We are from South Korea, and we have never been other places without Central London. If you know beautiful areas outside of London, please let me know.

  • We love beaches, nature, animals and adventure.

Thank you for reading.

Best wishes
Raji

When will you be coming? Driving or public transport? How far from London do you want to travel?
IMHO you can't beat the North Pembrokeshire coast for beaches, nature and adventure but it is 6 hours from London. The bigger beaches ban dogs May-September but there are plenty of smaller ones.

The Lake District.

Will you have access to a car or will you be using the train/planes? Not all places in Britain are easy to get to using public transport.

There are loads of lovely places to explore if you like nature and the outdoors. In the south of England, the Cotswolds are easy to access from London. Lots of pretty villages and meadows.
There are some glorious spots on the south coast, I love charmouth and Lyme Regis in Dorset. This is an area famous for its beaches, golden cliffs and fossils. I think dogs are allowed on most beaches outside of areas with lots of tourists (eg in the centre of seaside towns).

Further affield, my favourite places are the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands and Islands. The highlands are spectacular and feel a lot more wild than most British countryside but there can be a lot of midges in summer!

Also, north wales and snowdonia. Beautiful big sandy beaches with mountains to explore nearby.

Bringing your dog from South Korea for a holiday? Did I read that right?

sashh · 18/02/2018 08:47

You will not be able to bring the dog, or it will be very difficult and most accommodation does not allow dogs.

Have a look at this thread for some places.

Just look up pet friendly or dog friendly e.g.

Some beaches or section s don't allow dogs certain times of year e.g. summer

Might be a little late now as the Easter holiday have passed, but a ‘staycation’ could be an option for the Summer holidays if this weather keeps getting better?

If you are nature lover, the New forest is an amazingly beautiful place to go! It is about 2 hours away from London by car, but totally worth it. You can wonder the New Forest National Park, where it is super dog friendly and a great opportunity to discover a range of wildlife from ponies to pigs and also, rare plants. You can even explore the land by horse!

It isn’t something you can spend a day explore and it is great that there are so many BnB’s and New forest cottages available to hire. There are lots of dog friendly places to stay so you can relax with your furry friend whilst enjoying what the area has to offer. There are also so many activities like archery, canoeing and local museums which the whole family can enjoy!

Here are some handy sites for if you want to explore the New Forest:

I see this is an old thread, but I would say get a map of the UK, stick in a pin, then research the area where it lands. Nearly every part of the UK has an interesting historic town or beautiful countryside or coast or something worth visiting for.
