Hello!

We are trying to book 10-14 nights away towards the end of February in the UK.

There are two adults and one two and a half year old boy. We were thinking of going to Center Parcs but have had a lot people saying there isn’t a lot to do for under threes.

Does anyone have any ideas of fun breaks that are available? We live in the Midlands do can go anywhere easily enough.

We’re tempted to stay in a few places for a couple of days each. Are there any attractions that your children loved or were amazing family days out?

We have about £1500 to spend.

Thanks in advance!

not sure where you are in the Midlands but Darwin Forest Country Park at Matlock always looks nice and there is so much to do in that area ie Chatsworth Farm Park, Crich Tramway, Alton towers (including splashlandings etc etc)

February can be a bit iffy because the in tourist areas a lot of attractions are either closed or on limited/weekend type opening. You could look at something like LEGOLAND for a couple of nights and stay in a Travelodge to keep the costs reasonable. I think travelling around would be good so that you could pick and choose different things. at this age mine enjoyed places like the Eden project for running around in, LEGOLAND, some of the zoos like Paignton and anywhere with a nice pool and farm animals.

Bluestone in Pembrokeshire is nice but try to avoid half term which is late this year (20th Feb here and we’re in the Midlands too). There are a couple of theme parks (not on Alton Towers scale) nearby but not sure if they’d be open off season.

We love the area around Filey Bay in Yorkshire, even in the winter because there's a lot to do inside. Bridlington is just south of Filey and there's a sweet factory (John Bull World of Rock) , excellent model village, Rose Hill Park and Sewerby Hall and Gardens (with adventure playground, menagerie, mini ride on train). You can get tours of Flamborough Light House and just north up the coast is Scarborough with its indoor fairground collection, marine rescue sanctuary, castle and railway. BugTopia at Hornsea is a large indoor tropical rainforest. There's a new walk-through stick insect exhibit! There's a few indoor soft play centres in the area and of course excellent fish and chips!
Stay in at Humble Bee Farm. There are hen houses, tractors and sheep, cows, hens, goats and ducks to make friends with, as well as a children’s play area and loads of space to run around in.
Slightly further in land but perhaps better for playing indoors if it rains, Bridge Farm has an indoor play barn with large sandpit, ride on tractors, 2-storey Wendy house etc... as well as animals to help feed. All the cottages have underfloor heating and wood burning stoves.
