Getting to Scotland for Christmas

I've left it a bit late and flight prices have rocketed.

Anyone experienced rail at Christmas or saints preserve us coach?

Rail discounts are through redspottedhanky, you need to sign into your clubcard and swap your vouchers for double their value of redspottedhanky ones then book with them online.

Done Edinburgh to London by train many many many times. I usually do the night train.

Only once had a problem. Christmas of, I think, 2009. Right before Christmas. Train leaving Edin got stuck near Berwick due to some malfunction and the journey ended up over 24 hrs.
