Hi,
Last year before ds arrived we booked a holiday to the west coast of Ireland for 30th June -14th July 2007. The details are here...achill island BUT ds who is 8 weeks old has been very ill since birth and has just undergone an operation to rectify the problem and then had an emergency operation . He is due another operation in around 3 months time..this may be the time we booked to go away (no idea until the surgeon see's him again in a months time). Thing is we don't want to travel so far from our hospital just incase we need the support and esp if its post operation.

I have tried to cancel with the company BUT we are subject to a charge of our deposit (500 euros or £341) and as we have no insurance yet we can't cancel and make a claim iykwim. The company are not willing to cancel and waive the charge as a gesture of goodwill so we are stuck..we will cancel and forfeit the deposit BUT i wondered if anyone fancied this holiday..?? The total cost is 1510 euros or £1028 for a cottage that sleeps 6 and we have already agreed a cot (if also required)..

Please can you CAT me if interested or email [email protected] Sorry but I need to know within the next few days as I want to cancel asap to stop any further charges. All thats required is the deposit to be paid (or whatever is agreed with us) and the rest is payable to the company 6 weeks before departure.

BTW I am willing to negotiate and will consider reasonable offers. Just don't fancy loosing over £300..

ALSO : THIS HOLIDAY CAN BE TRANSFERRED AS PER THE HOLIDAY COMPANIES TERMS AND CONDITIONS...

Hi,

Just bumping for you. We already have our summer hol booked but wanted to say what a wonderful place Ireland is - hopefully someone will read this and help you out.

Wonderful scenery, lovely people and lots of lovely places to visit or you can just soak up the magic that is Ireland.

Wishing you luck with your little one. We had the same scenario last year with dd having to have lots of hospital visits and two ops. Not much fun and a huge worry so I can understand completely your wish to stay close to home

Good luck

thanks tillyboo. Yes I totally agree with your comments on ireland. We used to go as kids for about 10 years till I thought I was too old.. Sometimes I wish I could have those days back.

I so wanted to take dh and my little family there this year but obviously its not to be...

Just to add that if these dates are not suitable then they will allow you to change the dates BUT it must be to the same value...

TIA. xx
