Hoburne Cotswolds- anyone been?

We've just booked a week at Hoburne holiday park in the Cotswolds. Very spare of the moment not something we would normally do. Hope we've made the right choice. My boys love water sports so hopefully it will turn out well.

Any experiences welcomed.

I haven't stayed at that place but generally there is loads to do. Look up south Cerney outdoor (lake 12), they do a 3 hour pay and play where you can try lots of things - paddle board, canoe etc. And also outdoor swimming at set times. Also coots cafe (opposite Cotswold camping shop) is nice and there are walks along either an old canal or railway line near it. The main Cotswold water park lake (forget the number- the one with the 'beach' with actual sand) is really nice. There is a playground near the beach which is good, and cafe etc. Cirencester is a nice day out nearby - nice shops and the roman museum.

Agreed, lake 12 is awesome. My kids have done the 3 hour session, and did canoes, kayaks and paddle boarding. They loved it.

The beach bit is called Country Park and Beach. It's changed this year and I haven't been yet, but it always used to be good.

Details for the country park and beach here www.waterpark.org/listing-details/672/cotswold-country-park-and-beach/ this is the page literally for that part, however there are links on that general site for other lakes as well.

I've not been for years, but definitely enjoyed it when I did.

Thanks for the info, is it worth us buying wet suits before we go?

You can hire them easily enough. But you can also buy wetsuits from somewhere like Sports Direct (there's one in Cirencester on a retail park- easy to get to). I guess it depends whether you'll use them again or not.
