Seaside town - arcades, fish and chips - accommodation?

Want to take DS 17(!) and 15 for a short holiday (maybe 3 days) in August while DH is away - we've already had our holiday, so I want to keep it simple. Thinking about a holiday town in Lincolnshire coast, Norfolk, Suffolk maybe, but with caravan/mobile home accommodation which is walking distance to the town (10 mins or so), so that they can be completely independent and i can sip my Prosecco in peace.Wine Don't know Suffolk so that would be ideal but I don't know where to start.....
Any suggestions?

Try Cromer - has all you're asking for, and a pier that does an old fashioned Seaside Special.

Cromer definitely. Enough frills to keep everyone amused but still simple and lovely. And not that expensive.

Wells next the sea is lovely...

How far are you willing to travel? If you are happy to go further afield Lytham St. Annes is a lovely seaside town with a great pier arcade, fish and chips, beautiful beach. Plus, you can treat your boys to a day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and they'll have the time of the lives!

The Haven in Mablethorpe is a nice one. It's out a bit to the north of the town, but still walkable or use the bus.

Brilliant beach. Even has a sand train.

Southwold is lovely. very picturesque. not sure how you are going to get on finding a short break in august school holidays so this might determine where you actually go.

Cromer, Wells next the Sea, Southwold, Aldeburgh, and a bit further up the coast, Whitby.
