Things to do near Lymington

I will have a Thursday-to-Sunday there with ds, soon.

The one must on our list is the open air pool. We love it!

On past visits we enjoyed Beaulieu and Hurst Castle. Fort Victoria on the IoW was also good, Alum Bay so-so.

Where else should we go? We will have a car, but don't want to 'waste' time travelling. Unless, of course, part of the travel is fun (eg the ferry) or can be fitted into the way there or back.

Near balmer lawn hotel in brockenhurst there is a little river to paddle in, we can spend all day there. Take a picnic and get there early on a sunny day as it only has a little car park.
There is also hatchet pond near east boldre, lovely to walk around and if you're lucky the donkeys and foals are there.

We drive past the hotel every time we go to Lymington. Keep meaning to check out the 'beach'.

Have you been to the new forest wildlife park? This is a great day out and if you check the website you can see which days they feed the wolves. Staff are great there, they do daily talks and are very knowledgeable. And there is a huge playground too to let of a bit of steam

Brownsea Island?

Back to where?

Feeding wolves sounds interesting!

Brownsea Island...I haven't been there in years. Dc loves red squirrels. Maybe be Corfe Castle! Likewise haven't been there in years. Google says just over an hour away from Lymington - I wonder whether we could take both in in one day?

Back to the M3, allegretto.

It's not just Peppa Pig - that's just a small part of it! My 12 year old likes the rest of the park.

The Moors Valley country park is really nice, they have a woodland walk with 10 wooden climbing frame / activity centres along the route. There's a nice cafe, and a little railway, and you only have to pay to park.

I've never been but people at work have taken their kids to Calshot Activity Centre, it's over in the Beaulieu direction.
Can do lots there including climbing.
