Cornwall for the first time- tips?

Off to Cornwall for a week in June. Will be me, DH and almost 3yo DS. We usually do north Devon. Haven't ever been into Cornwall. We're staying in Mullion(?) I think.

Any recommendations for areas to go to, and any places that aren't worth it?

We'd like to go to st Michaels mount. And lands end.
What beaches are best?
We prefer quieter areas, pretty places, rather than busy. Is Newquay ridiculously busy? Any hidden beaches or coves?

Any tips?

Thanks

The view out to sea at Land's End at sunset is pretty but the actual place is very touristy, more Blackpool than Cornwall. There is a nice restaurant called Ben Tunnicliffe on the beach at Sennen just up the road from Land's End, great views and higher end food than your big standard beach cafe. More mussels, steak, fish and the like.

Penzance is not brill, the high street is not charming but generic British high street so avoid. But just a few minutes away is Mousehole which is one of he prettiest villages in Cornwall. Pam's Cafe in Mousehole serves a killer cream tea.

St Michael's Mount is wonderful but not for fainthearted if you have a baby or toddler (lots of steps, cobbles, impossible with a pram.) for children aged 5+ there is a treasure hunt around the Mount which is usually a hit with the under ten set.

Newquay is strictly for teenagers during the summer holidays. It is one of those Places that becomes associated with one thing...Amsterdam for stag nights, Paris for lovers, Newquay for over excited British teenagers who have finished their exams and want to have a holiday away from their parents..

Port Isaac is beautiful, but 55 miles away and takes about an hour and a half to drive.

Must warn you too - travel early, there are roadworks further up the A30 that are hellish if you get stuck in them in rush hour.

I don't choose Cornwall because of the narrow roads and the very long distance it is to get there,
but appreciate it is lovely and popular
