Sherwood Forest Center Parcs

Booked to take DPs two children (aged 11 and 13) to Center Parcs at the end of August. Staying in a Woodland Lodge. Can anyone advise what we need to take - want to spend as little as possible whilst there. Taking our own bikes and the kids love swimming, but if there are any 'must do' activities or must take items appreciate any advice.

Yes, about 20 years ago!

Ok, you need all kitchen supplies - dishwasher tablets, fairy, tea towels, kitchen roll, soap and toiletries for bathrooms and loo roll. Towels for the pool - extra ones possibly as it's hard to get them dry between days. Stuff to entertain you in the evenings (no signal or wifi at sherwood)

Restaurants are crap so you'll probably want to cook your meals.

We usually go to Whinfell, but these activities work out cheap per head for us (family of 5, DC aged 10, 12 and 14):

Treasure hunt on bikes
Geocache
Badminton
Short Tennis
American Pool
Table Tennis
Adventure Golf (this is usually the prize on Geocache)
Tenpin bowling (not peak times)

Plus of course swimming, swimming and more swimming.

We took our own food, collected from Tesco en route. Much cheaper than the shop on site. Remember things like loo rolls and dishwasher tablets too.

We always take a sharp knife or two, plus foil/cling film and kitchen roll so don't need to buy those in the shop. Love centre parcs but haven't been for ages as school holidays always £££

And don't forget bum sex

Just had a cracking week at CP in Belguim.

We lived in the pool so maybe spare costumes/towels incase dont dry

Restaurants are expensive so maybe check if u can use Tesco vouchers etc there to lower cost. Or eat in.

We are going August bank holiday. 2 adults and a 4 year old. Our plan is arrive, unpack, possibly swim, dinner at Cafe Rouge.
Sat- activity (mini crossbows), swim, lunch, activity (mini fencing), play area, dinner at Rajenda Pradesh.
Sun- activity (mini land rovers), swim, not sure yet what to do in the afternoon. Eat in - family film night and pizza.
Mon- check out, swim, lunch, leave.
Very excited!

Always best to arrive early and leave late we only every swim on a Friday and/or Monday much quieter this the other days. Usually arrive at 10 and leave after tea.

Was just about to post the same as OP, going to start packing tomorrow - how big are the fridges? Was thinking of taking some home cooked food for Friday night that we could just heat up.

How big are the ovens in the Woodland Lodges?
