Blackpool or Lytham St Anne's hotels

Can anyone recommend a hotel in the Blackpool or Lytham area for a couple of nights at October half term? On the seafront would be nice, but equally don't mind staying somewhere a couple of miles out and driving in. The only real requirement is for a family room for me and my DDs, aged 15 and 12.

I go to Blackpool a lot for dancing and tend to stay in guest houses, I've always found it fine, but I stick to ones I know! The Westholme is one I like, the owner's very nice.

We stay at St Ives every year for a family weekend

It's old school, for sure, but it's decent food, with a pool, entertainment and nice rooms

St Ives in St Anne's, I should have said.

Blackpool is fine if you avoid staying near the town centre and cheaper than Lytham/St Annes. Most stags and hens are only there at weekend. Look at the Big Blue, the Sheraton, Hilton or the De Vere which is near the zoo. The number 1 is nice but expensive. There are a few highly recommended guest houses. Check out trip advisor.

Lytham is the nicest place to stay if you want fab cafes and restaurants, great atmosphere. St.Annes cool too, bit bigger, more touristy.

Lytham - Clifton Arms
St.Annes - The Grand / St.Ives

St Annes Beach Huts and Apartments look lovely! Also try Howarth House Aparthotel. Both very central to St Annes Square

Thanks, everyone. Much appreciated!
