Would you recommend Centreparks Longleat?

I have never been on a holiday like this before and thought it might be a good break with a 2 1/2 year old and dh. I have noticed that some of the comments on here are not great so I wanted to get some words of wisdom before we book. Does anyone have any thoughts? I noticed that somebody has posted about having problems getting the car out? Do you have to park it up miles away and only get it back by prior arrangement? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

We had a brilliant time at centreparcs last year. I really want to go back.
You park up your car in a big car park and then have to leave it there for your visit, but you can go and get it whenever you want, but hopefully you won't need to. It depends where your chalet is in accordance to how far away you are.
We went with our 10 year old and 1 year old. It rained the entire time but it didn't matter at all, my 10 year old loved the fact that it is totally family orientated and that we all rode round on bikes together. The pool was great. My partners sister went with her 2 year old and he loved it too.
We went to sherwood forest though.

We have been several times. Villas are basic but clean. Stock up on food etc and take it with you, as supermarket on site is vg but expensive. It is ideal with young children - the pool keeps them amused for hours and is free. Other activities are extra, but we haven't always used them - just a few hours in the creche so we could use the spa. You take the car in when you arrive to your villa, unload, and the car stays in a car park, which you can reach either by landtrain, or by bike. Bikes are essential I think, they have seats for children on back, or trailers for smaller ones (from 6 months old I think, they have to be able to sit up). It it is cheaper to go out of school holidays. Parks for children to play in, and Longleat is really close and a great day out (we went twice in a week.)

I went to Sherwood last year with dh and 2 year old dd. Other than the swimming (which was great but colder than I expected) there wasn't a great deal for little ones to do.

I would go again but only if sharing with friends and their lo's as it gives them company during the day and at least you've got someone to sit and have a couple of bottles of wine with on an evening.

I definitely recommend taking your own food. Rather than cook, we just got some nice oven meals from m&s. The food that we did eat out was appalling as well as hugely overpriced.
