This one has a hot tub (not quite the same I know but a bit cheaper)

Trouble is the places with pools get booked up for school hols very early, esp the ones that sleep more than 6. Might a complex with 2 smaller cottages do?

Check out Hungate Cottages at Pickering - free use of the local pool (not on site though). Some availability still for half term.

I stayed in Foxcover (Little Edstone Farm)in August, so if you want the low down, please ask. It would take you about an hour to drive to Scarborough (particularly if you get held up in Pickering.

Lilymaid - I'd be interested in more info on Foxcover (well, looking at the bigger property but any info on the place itself and what is round about that is worth visiting would be great.

The whole complex has been done up very well apart from the car park entrance area. The cottages are fairly roomy and well furnished almost entirely with IKEA furniture etc! My only doubts were that it might be difficult to maintain everything to a pristine standard - we were very short of plates and wine glasses (only five dinner plates in a house for four!) and that some of the kitchen items were not very practical - e.g no sieve and only one casserole/lidded dish and that was so large that you couldn't get it into the microwave.
The swimming pool was nice and warm and the sauna was excellent (much used by my teenagers who racked the heat up to maximum). The tennis court was good, though it seemed to be largely used by small children to ride trikes etc round and if you knocked a ball over the fence it would end up in deep stinging nettles.
There was a small playground outside the courtyard area - fenced, I think with new wooden equipment and a plastic playhouse wihin the court yard. There was also a games room with table tennis and a pool table (though some dratted child kept stuffing a large ball up the chute and blocking it!).
The "farm" activites were a few goats and a trail (watch out for nettles). The owner grows organic veg - very nice though rather mucky and has organic eggs (excellent) for sale.
Overall I would recommend it apart from my few niggles.
