Hello!
I was wondering if I could pick your brains for some help in organising my Summer 2016 holiday?. We are taking the ferry over from Ireland and hoping to stay in Wales for one week to 10 days.
I'll be travelling with my partner and son, who's 8 years old. As he is an only child, I'd love to stay somewhere where he might make a few pals for the holiday. However, it's much cheaper for us to travel at the start of July and even though the schools are out here-I think term time in UK is a bit longer.
So is there any point in paying for a Haven Holiday Park, when there may only be toddlers/young kids there?. We were looking at Hafan Y Mor in particular.
Should I maybe try to book a holiday home instead?. Would anyone have any suggestions for a nice town to stay in..with fun activities for him and a few nice pubs/restaurants for us?. Ideally we would love a beach town but I'm open to any suggestions.
Thank you for any help :)

Ah Dowser, I think I am more sad than you that your holiday has come to an end. I looked forward to reading your updates every day.
It sounds like you had a lovely time. And after reading about your day trips and about your stay in Hafan Y Mor, I have my mind made up that we are definitely visiting next Summer-I'm very excited about it!.
Who knows?. We may even bump in to you next Summer :)
Thank you so much for all of your tips. Safe home.

Thank you LegoMan. Well we set off for Caernarfon and I plumbed the wrong road into the satnav so we went by Beddgelert....again. It was a bit misty and light rain so by the time we got to Caernarfon it had mostly cleared so we stopped for an hour or so.
if we had driven straight there we probably would not have stopped at all. Trees are just stunning at this time of year. Very spectacular and if you get reasonable weather like we did its not a bad time to come. Another couple of days would have been perfect!

Caernarfon is a nice little town with a castle at the end of a well laid out square. Usual high st/ charity shops etc but people are lovely and friendly like they have been throughout N Wales .

Never got to Anglesey, Rhyl , Llandudno and a few other places so we've saved some thing for next time.

We have stopped off at our own caravan to put it away for the winter ( sob!) . One thing I have decided. The next caravan we get ( won't be for a while yet) I'm thinking of a static.

Loved the space in the one we rented. You just couldn't fault it . Bedroom and bathroom were huge and a large well equipped kitchen as well. Just fabulous!
