Tea in Bath - MIL friendly

Hi, any ideas? I'm taking my mother-in-law to Bath for her birthday, to the Museum of Costume to which she's never been. I'd like to take her to a really nice place for tea - she's very much at the cucumber sandwiches end of the market, so a hotel or something much better than the Chocolate Cafe kind of thing. Any Bath-living MNers who can clue me in? Her hip's going so somewhere close to Bennett Street would be ideal... thanks...

Try the Pump Rooms at the roman baths - it's in walking distance from the costume museum, and is a lovely place for lunch or tea.

Second the Pump Rooms.

And another vote for the Pump Rooms.

Blimey, total unanimity! I'm tempted to report this thread... is it unique? Thanks - I'm sure my MIL will love this.

When I saw this thread title I thought your friendly MIL had brought you tea in your bath.....

If you're near Bennet St (well you would be if you're at the MofC... duh!!)I would say go to tea at the Olive Tree at The Queensbury Hotel in Russel St - not 100% sure they do tea though....

Alternatively take the open top bus tour (which you can hop on and off) to take your mil between the MofC and the Pump Rooms.

Or try Sally Lunns - The Oldest house in Bath (apparantly!!) and next door is Tilley's if you fancy something more substantial ( and owned by my friends!!)
