Hi
mum is post cancer op but active and Dad uses sticks to walk. Mum wants a nice UK break in October - she was thinking Cornwall, but I think might be hilly

They need things to look at or do in the day

Can anyone help?

My grandparents who are in their 80's but sharp as tacks go to the Isle of Wight and stay in a hotel.. I'm trying to remember the name, they have a whale of a time anyway.

Arggg.. What's the bloody name? Will google..

The Grand at Eastbourne. Nice long flat walks. Short drive up to top of beachy head.

We took my in-laws to Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons for their 50th anniversary, they loved it. The grounds are lovely (not huge). If they're gourmands, they would love it.

Le Manoir is fabulous - incredible food. And Oxford is nearby for culture and history

wickedwaterwitch · 23/08/2015 20:56

Depends on how luxurious you want too, what's your budget?

What about Torquay? I stay a week every year at www.osborneclub.co.uk which is the self catering part. Very popular with retired people. The Hotel www.osborne-torquay.co.ukhas had a refurbishment and is looking very swish. Even in October, the fact Tor Bay is East facing means the weather is mild.

It's lovely isn't it TurnOff. We stayed in the Follifoot wing (of course) and had one of those rooms with a garden, fab! They stay the right side of fantastic service without straying into obsequiousness. It's won best UK hotel outside London again this year I see Smile

Stay somewhere just outside York, lots to do in the city, nice cafes, and a posh hotel to go back to for dinner?

BrendaandEddie · 23/08/2015 21:42

Dartmouth is lovely

Gleneagles?

Has a reputation with their generation. Lots of nice walks, golf, spa, horsey things (carriage rides if not up to riding), birds of prey....
