Free/cheapish parking in London?

Going into London for a day trip with dc, coming from the South and I'd like to drive near the centre and then get public transport and walk.. But where can I park? Somewhere around Battersea maybe? Or Waterloo?

I used to live in London, but never drove then. I'm a bit bewildered and would be grateful for any tips about parking :)

If you can park at/near a train station, you can get a ticket into London and get the 2-for-1 deals for the London Eye and other places.

No idea on where to actually park, but thought I'd throw that out there.

We used to rent out our off street space at "park at my house". A couple of people on our street still do it (Clapham/Battersea area), have a look.
