Science museum, V&A and Natural History Museum are all free!

If it's before May 25th you could do a trail to find some of the Shaun the Sheeps that are scattered around London. There is an app and a map you can download if you google Shaun in the City.

They are all individual quirky designs and it's great fun finding them. A couple of the trails are very central and it's a great way to see the sights of London.

My dses have loved doing it.

The play area in the basement of the science museum is great for younger children; then get a bus to the Princess Diana memorial playground.
Do you have a contactless debit card for the buses?

The Princess Diana Memorial playground is lovely. My three year old loves the science, Nat. Hist. and Transport museums, but is equally happy on the top deck of a bus, wandering around the South Bank annoying the human statues and admiring the skateboarders, or eating falafel in Soho. See if the Unicorn theatre or the Little Angel puppet theatre have anything on that she would like. Or anything for children at the South Bank Centre or Kings Place?

I honestly think that for a non-Londoner four year old, the city itself is a lot of the treat, without trying to pack in too much.

Science museum is very small child friendly, two floors of things to play on...

TheoriginalLEM · 05/05/2015 16:33

The museums are just right - the science museum particularly - she will love it.

Where is the Princess Diana playground?

thanks :)

it looks great. is it far from the sci museum

What day of the week? If it's the weekend, the queue for the Natural History Musem can be a nightmare. Science Museum is better.

Go on the Clipper boat service down to Tower Bridge. South Bank is always interesting and lively.

I think, with a four year old, seeing Buck Palace and trying to spot the Queen is still fun.

An oystercard covers all tubes, buses & trains through central London
Under 11's are free, over 11's travel free if they have a special photocard
